2023 Valley Bike Month!
We are right around the corner from all of the amazing bike events happening this year. the Tempe Bicycle Action Group is directly involved with a few and our members are involved in another half dozen. It starts this Friday, before we even get to April, with the Arizona Bicycle Summit.
The Summit is a fun inspirational event where advocates, city planners, urban designers gather to share ideas and network. A continental breakfast and lunch is provided to attendees and there are raffle prizes from REI, Bicycle Cellar, Flat Tire Bicycle Shop, ands the Tempe Bicycle Action Group at the close of the event and then a short group bike ride to Papago Brewing Company at the Mesa Riverview shopping center. See the event agenda and get other details of the Summit on CAZBike’s page http://www.cazbike.org/summit2023/
The very next day is CycloMesa and then on Sunday is the Tour de Tempe.
CycloMesa is a family event with too many things to completely describe but includes live music, a bike rodeo, rock wall, zip line, and free helmets for kids. Bike over or even take the light rail. See the event page to find what interests you https://cyclomesa.mesa11.com/
Tour de Tempe is a long standing community bike ride that is returning this year after being suspended during COVID. The ride starts and ends at Kiwanis Park across from the batting cages with sponsor booths including Pedal Haus Brewery, Bicycle Cellar, 3 Feet Please, and your friendly neighborhood advocacy group US! https://www.tempe.gov/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/74449/
These are just the first couple of events and there are others that maybe closer to you. Like the Chandler Family Bike Ride, the Slope Fest & Tour de Sunnyslope, and the Glendale Family Bike Ride all happening on that same weekend! OMG we wanna clone ourselves so we can go to all of them.
